General sim rules
- RP zone: 1000m
- The roleplay area is the space between 0 and 1000m on the sims. Gianfar's rules apply here. There is only one OOC zone: the 'welcome area', aka the Rift or the Dome, on Kuma. The space under the dome, down to the floor, and inside the 'Entering Role Play' notices, is OOC (although occasionally RP may happen here).
- If someone wearing the tag 'Guardian' or 'Guardian of Gianfar' asks you to do something, do it.
- Not all the Guardians are players, but all the Guardians are estate and/or group managers. If they ask you to remove an object, change your hair or leave the sim, there's a reason. They can evict and ban you, and return your objects - they don't have to ask, they're being polite.
(Pretending to be a Guardian is a banning offence, and may be AR'd as Griefing.)
If you don't like what a Guardian did, you can appeal to the Owners. But you might want to think about just who appointed the Guardians, first.
- No (humanoid) child avatars. (except at advertised times)
- Not our rule - since everyone on SL is (in theory) over 18, and the Hold and Weyr should be full of children, we'd love to have them. But our sims necessarily have to be 'mature', because our roleplay can deal with very 'mature' and 'adult' themes. And (for very good reason) Linden Labs has to worry about child avatars on mature sims. So, no children, except when we make the sims PG for a few hours.
- No magic. No high technology.
- If you're a cyborg that needs tech to survive, then that will still work. But your super-duper jetpack won't, and nor will those magical flower footprints your fairy av leaves behind. These are low-lag sims, we just can't afford to host your pretty-but-irrelevant scripts, sorry. And, vampires... your thirst dried up when you arrived. It'll be waiting for you when you leave. Trying to bite anyone here is an automatic ban.
- Locked doors mean 'no entry'!
- If a door is locked, the area on the other side is being rented by someone who wants their privacy. Respect that, please.
- No voice (except on rare occasions, and by specific people)
- We don't usually disable voice here - it's a useful tool, and can be used, for instance, to allow Harpers to sing. But, in general use, it disrupts RP and makes 'suspension of disbelief' that much harder. So, unless you're a player with a role that needs it, or attending an OOC voiced meeting, please keep your mikes off.
Individual sim rules
Shaula
This is the 'dragon sim', home to Threadfall and the dragons of Shaula Weyr. It needs to be very low-lag (for an occupied RP sim!) to perform its function.
- Objects
- Please keep permanent rezzes to a minimum, and stay within allocated limits. Please descript objects where possible - ask for advice if you need it; it's surprising (to non-scripters) how many scripts aren't needed once they've set the fire going, the wheel turning or the water moving.
- Scripts
- As far as possible, scripts should be compiled as Mono, should avoid using 'active' events like listens in favour of 'passive' events like touches, and where possible be kept inactivated. Over-active scripted objects may be removed, at the discretion of the sim owner.
- Poseballs
- Personal poseballs should be derezzed when not in use. (We understand this isn't always possible.)
- Animals
- Permanently rezzed scripted animals need the personal approval of the sim owner. (Consider this a 'no pets' policy.)
Kuma
This is the 'home' sim for much of the RP. Threadfall happens here, but - partly as an experiment - this sim is not under the restrictions that Shaula operates under.
- Objects
- Please stay within allocated limits. Please descript objects where possible - ask for advice if you need it; it's surprising (to non-scripters) how many scripts aren't needed once they've set the fire going, the wheel turning or the water moving.
- Scripts
- As far as possible, scripts should be compiled as Mono, should avoid using 'active' events like listens in favour of 'passive' events like touches. However, scripts are not required to be inactivated.
- Poseballs
- Personal poseballs may be left out.
- Animals
- In-theme animals are permitted. The owner has sole discretion to remove animals or request their removal.
Tyl, Etamin
Our 'expansion pack'...

- Permanently rezzed scripted animals need the personal approval of the sim owner. (Consider this a 'no pets' policy.) However, members of Beast/Herdcraft on Tyl, and Fisher/Dolphincraft or dolphins on Etamin, may rezz animals as required by their own faction rules, or just to make the place look better.
